Beth Jones was recruited in 2006 to the fundraising team for the Cancer Center. In 2007 she was promoted to a permanent position as the Executive Director of Development. She is the senior adviser to Cancer Center leadership on all activities regarding philanthropy. She is responsible for designing, implementing and coordinating a comprehensive development program. She oversees a team of four development professionals - two major gift officers, a development coordinator and assistant.

Jones was recruited to Vanderbilt Medical Center in 2004 as the Director of Development for Neurosciences and Orthopaedics. Previously, she was a Major Gifts Officer for Baptist Memorial Health Care Foundation (BMHCF) in Memphis, Tennessee - specifically serving as the Chief Development Officer for Baptist Memorial Hospital for Women. Prior to joining BMHCF, she was the Director of Development for Porter-Leath Children's Center in Memphis, Tennessee.
