Profile

The spread (metastasis) of solid cancers requires the movement of cells away from a primary tumor into surrounding tissues. We are interested in how cancer cells generate forces to drive their movement. We are currently focused on the role of the molecular motor, non-muscle myosin II (NMII). NMII is a central player in a cell's ability to generate force and it and/or its adaptor proteins could make for targets of anti-metastasis therapies.
