Profile
On August 1, 2022, I moved my laboratory to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with a primary appointment as Associate Professor in the Department of Surgery and secondary appointment in the Department of Cell and Developmental Biology. Since 2011, my laboratory has adopted the methods established by Sato and Clevers to indefinitely propagate human enteroids/colonoids derived from Lgr5+ve stem cells obtained from healthy donors or patients with GI disorders. My laboratory has helped establish the methods to grow enteroids/colonoids as monolayers to better mimic luminal infection (e.g., bacterial or viral) and pathogenesis.
