Profile
Dr. Khalaf is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Hematology and Oncology. Dr. Khalaf received his medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine, where he completed a combined degree program obtaining both his M.D. as well as his Ph.D. degrees as part of the Medical Scientist Training Program. Dr. Khalaf’s research was focused on blood cancers and hematopoietic stem cell biology. After medical school training, Dr. Khalaf completed his Internal Medicine residency from Vanderbilt University Medical Center and was subsequently named as the Hugh Jackson Morgan Chief Resident in Internal Medicine at Vanderbilt Hospital. He then completed fellowship training in Hematology and Oncology from Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
Dr. Khalaf is board certified in Internal Medicine, Hematology, and Medical Oncology and practices as a hematologist and medical oncologist. Since joining faculty at Vanderbilt in 2014, Dr. Khalaf’s interest and passion has been to expand cancer health services and deliver high quality oncology care in communities that have had limited access to a large academic medical center. He is currently serving as the Medical Director for Regional Network Cancer Care at Vanderbilt Ingram Cancer Center and is actively working to grow VICC footprint in Middle TN and beyond.
