Profile
Dr. Roberta Muldoon is board-certified by the American Board of Surgery and eligible for certification by the American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgeons. She is a member of the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons, as well as the Society of American Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES), and the Society for Surgery of the Alimentary Tract. Dr. Muldoon is trained in both minimally invasive procedures and traditional open procedures. Her surgical interest is in all aspects of colon and rectal disease and treatment, including laparoscopic and open approaches to treatment.
Dr. Muldoon is Assistant Professor of Surgery, Colon and Rectal Surgery, in the Division of General Surgery at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. She is an honors graduate in Biology from Loyola University of Chicago (1985) and received her M.D. degree from the Stritch School of Medicine, Maywood, Illinois, in 1989. At the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, Little Rock, Arkansas, she completed her surgical residency. While there she was three times honored with the Red Sash Award for Teaching and was also named the Robert M. Bransford, M.D. Outstanding Chief Resident.
